RISEnergy Workshop on Metadata Management

The RISEnergy project is pleased to invite you to a half-day online workshop on 28 April on metadata management, designed to support RI providers and RI users in making their data sets more accessible, reusable, and FAIR-compliant.

As participants in a HEU RI Access project, we share a common responsibility to ensure that our research outputs are made available in accordance with the FAIR principles, and the creation of suitable metadata is still a challenge for many of us. This online half-day workshop aims to provide practical support to help you meet and extend these objectives.

During the workshop, we will introduce Coscine MD platform and a MD creation tool AIMS used within RISEnergy via concrete use-case demonstration and hands-on sessions. This tool enables you to generate structured metadata tailored to your specific research outputs, including datasets, images, documents, and other digital objects and aligned with their intended use (e.g., sharing within a community, enabling reuse, or supporting workflows).

By the end of the workshop, you will have hands-on experience with the tool and a clearer understanding of how to structure metadata effectively. Importantly, the tool can be used beyond the lifetime of the project, supporting the FAIRification of your future research outputs, in open science, collaborative or local contexts.

While the workshop is particularly relevant for project partners, it is open to anyone interested in improving their metadata practices. Participants new to metadata management will gain a clear and practical introduction, while more experienced users will learn how to adapt or integrate existing metadata schemas to improve accessibility and interoperability.

We warmly encourage you to join us and take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen the impact and reusability of your research.

Attendance at the workshop is free of charge; however, registration is required. An information package will be sent to all registered participants
