SWITCH Fieldlab: Scaled Hybrid Powerplant

TA78TNO-SWITCH

Location

Edelhertweg 1

8219 PH Lelystad,  Netherlands

Description

SWITCH Fieldlab is a scaled hybrid power plant facility of TNO and Wageningen University Research (WUR). Scenarios for any renewable energy system can be simulated in models and the results can be validated on the connected SWITCH hardware infrastructure. Scientists are able to collaborate and work with international researchers from both TNO and WUR. Set-up and access to the SWITCH Fieldlab experiments can be done on a remote basis making use of digital dashboards.

The laboratory supports the research and innovation to increase energy efficiency and foster a wider use of renewable energy, and the coupling with other new technologies emerging and scaling up in the energy system. The field data obtained from the experiments at SWITCH will enable a thorough validation of the dynamic models, and help optimize the performance of the integrated system.
