RISEnergy launches its fifth Transnational Access Call

RISEnergy has opened its fifth Transnational Access (TA) Call, offering researchers from academia and industry alike the opportunity to access leading infrastructures across Europe and carry out groundbreaking research that might not be possible with their current resources.

This fifth Call focuses on innovative solutions to improve energy systems and/or reduce the life cycle cost of energy technologies, enabling a wider use of renewable energy. The call actively invites diversity in applications. Proposals from a broad range of fields, including biofuels, concentrated solar power, energy storage, hydrogen, ICT, integrated grids, materials for energy, ocean energy, offshore wind, photovoltaics and cross-cutting projects are welcome.

Access will be granted free of charge to selected projects. Applications will be assessed by an independent Selection Panel, who will evaluate proposals based on scientific excellence, innovation potential and expected impact.

Applications from women researchers and underrepresented groups in energy research are particularly encouraged.

The benefits of accessing RISEnergy’s research infrastructures are already being demonstrated by one of the RISEnergy Champions, researchers who have successfully accessed specialised infrastructures through RISEnergy’s Transnational Access (TA) programme. As Dr. Bernhard Adams, Physicist and CTO of Heliosync, explains:
“We got some nice results; this access was instrumental for our product. We are now able to talk to customers and tell them that we have tested our product. We can demonstrate it works in a real environment.”
Dr. Bernhard Adams and Martin Adams are the father and son duo behind Heliosync, an Estonia-based company enabling cost-effective solar thermal applications. Thanks to RISEnergy’s TA Call, they gained access to the research infrastructure DRL Solar Power Plant Jülich in Germany. Read more about their journey and how the application and access went below!
Important things to note for this 5th TA Call:
  • Deadline for applications:18 November 2026, 23:59 CET
  • Application procedure: All proposals must be submitted using the official RISEnergy form via the RISEnergy TA Access platform. First-time users are required to register on the platform before submitting their proposal.
  • Available infrastructures: Access is available to a selection of RISEnergy Research Infrastructures. The full list of infrastructures open under this call can be found on the RISEnergy website.
