New job opening: RISEnergy is hiring a Research Assistant to support in communicating and coordinating with partners

As part of the coordination team for the EU project Research Infrastructure Services for Renewable Energy (RISEnergy), the candidate will be responsible for communication and coordination with the partners. Notably, the position will entail the following key tasks:

Scientific coordination of the EU research project and responsibility for the entire project cycle: communication and coordination with the central administrative organisational units at KIT and the EU Commission;

Formulation and presentation of technically demanding scientific facts and contexts of various kinds;

Preparation of reports and presentation of the scientific content of the project in internal and external scientific committees, at scientific conferences in English;

• Independent planning and implementation of international project meetings;

• Regular monitoring of a data management plan as well as a risk assessment plan, the course of the project as well as scientific and administrative-financial evaluation of data;

• Continuous independent observation/monitoring of the implementation of the decisions in close contact with the project participants.

On a personal qualification level, applicants should hold a university degree (Master’s) in chemistry, physics, energy technology, electrical engineering, materials science, industrial engineering or mathematics. Alternatively, the applicant can have a bachelor’s degree (Science or Arts) and experience in coordinating international energy research projects, especially research infrastructure projects. Several years of professional experience in the fields of EU projects, project coordination and scientific monitoring are desirable. The applicant’s profile will be rounded off by knowledge in the field of energy technologies, very good English skills, ability to work in a team, communication skills, willingness to travel and good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

The starting date for the position is as of now, with a contract for a period of two years.
